Petals and Power: Women in Bloom

March 02 - 31, 2024

As part of Women’s Month, "Petals and Power: Women in Bloom" celebrates the contributions of women through a series of art exhibitions. The exhibit will open on March 2 with a performance by Opaline Santos, followed by a walk-through led by the 98B team

Located throughout the First United Building, including the 3F Hallway, Staircase, FUB Museum, and Garden Terrace, this exhibition features a collection of artworks by participating artists Jazel Kristin, Petra Gana, Yllang Montenegro, and Opaline Santos.

The artworks touch on themes of femininity, strength, and transformation, showing the connection between women and nature. Gardens represent spaces where growth and nurturing happen, mirroring the journeys women go through as they shape their identities and build resilience. The cycles of growth and renewal in nature really resonate with the experiences of femininity.

“Nature reminds us of our strength; like a garden, we flourish when nurtured.”

Through this exhibition, we invite viewers to reflect on how nature not only inspires artistic expression but also embodies the strength and creativity of women. Together, let us celebrate their contributions and the essential roles they play in society and the environment.
